The ACCUPRO 72028343 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, six flutes, and a 0.12 inch corner radius, making it well suited for generating smooth, chip-resistant edges on finished workpiece surfaces. The AlTiN+ coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting high-temperature alloys and other hard materials. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool with a variable helix and variable index geometry, which reduces harmonic chatter and improves surface finish during aggressive cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in aerospace, medical, and precision manufacturing typically specify this tool.
This end mill is intended for milling operations on high-temperature alloys (material code S), including nickel-base and titanium alloys common in aerospace and industrial applications. The variable helix design assists with chip evacuation and vibration damping across a range of cutting depths. With a 1 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length, it fits standard 1/2 inch tool holders and collets used on vertical machining centers and CNC mills. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting geometry are consistent with standard spindle rotation on most CNC platforms.
Designed for use in standard 1/2 inch diameter end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit tooling systems on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. Primary workpiece material designation is high-temperature alloy (S). No specific machine model compatibility was provided by the manufacturer for this part.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before loading or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque the retention system per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces corner radius accuracy.
