The ACCUPRO 72021348 is a 6-flute solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It carries a 3/4 inch (0.7500 inch) mill diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius, making it well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where edge integrity matters. The AlTiN+ coating provides thermal resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration and chatter, improving surface finish and tool stability. This tool is single-end, right-hand cutting, right-hand flute direction, with centercutting capability, allowing plunge entry. Machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, aerospace cells, and high-precision manufacturing environments will recognize this geometry immediately.
The 72021348 is built for cutting high-temperature alloys, classified under primary workpiece material code S — covering nickel-base superalloys, titanium alloys, cobalt alloys, and similar difficult-to-machine materials common in aerospace, medical, and energy applications. The 4 inch overall length and 3/4 inch shank diameter fit standard ER or side-lock toolholders widely used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The extended tool life from the AlTiN+ coating makes this a practical choice for long-run production or demanding prototype work where tool changes are costly.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 3/4 inch toolholders; primary workpiece material is high-temperature alloy (material code S), including nickel-base superalloys and titanium alloys, per ACCUPRO HS series specifications.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before mounting or removing the end mill. Use a calibrated torque wrench with the appropriate collet nut or side-lock holder per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after seating — excessive runout accelerates edge wear and can cause premature tool failure, particularly in hard-to-machine alloys. Follow shop-standard feeds and speeds for solid carbide tooling in high-temp alloys.
