The ACCUPRO 72020779 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. With a 0.6250-inch mill diameter, 6-flute geometry, and an AlTiN+ coating, this tool delivers excellent heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The 0.0300-inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, helping prevent chipping when working in tough materials. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration, improving surface finish and cutting stability. This is a single-end, right-hand cut, center-cutting tool with a 3-inch overall length.
The 72020779 is designed primarily for machining high-temperature alloys (material code S), including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and cobalt-chrome alloys commonly encountered in aerospace, medical device, and power generation component manufacturing. The 6-flute configuration supports higher feed rates in finish and semi-finish passes. With a 0.7500-inch length of cut and a 0.6250-inch shank diameter, it fits standard collet and end mill holders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers running high-speed steel or carbide-compatible programs.
Optimized for cutting high-temperature alloys (ANSI material code S), including nickel superalloys, titanium alloys, and similar hard-to-machine materials. Fits any standard 5/8-inch collet, shrink-fit holder, or end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is locked out before loading or removing the tool. Verify holder bore concentricity and pull-out torque per the holder manufacturer specification before running at speed. Confirm correct spindle direction (right-hand) and program feeds and speeds appropriate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity before engaging the cut.
