The ACCUPRO 71177885 is a solid carbide upcut spiral router bit designed for precision cutting in plastics and solid surface materials. With a 0.1875 inch cutter diameter, a 0.625 inch length of cut, and a 2 inch overall length, this bit is suited for light-duty profiling and through-cutting operations where chip evacuation is critical. The single-edge upcut geometry pulls chips up and away from the workpiece, reducing heat buildup at the cutting zone. Machinists and fabricators running CNC routers or handheld router setups rely on this style of bit when processing thermoplastics and engineered surfaces that demand clean, burr-free edges.
This bit is built for use with plastics and composite sheet goods, including ABS, acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, PE, PET, POM, PS, polycarbonate, polypropylene, solid surfaces, and UHMW. It is a common choice in fabrication shops and sign-making operations where tight tolerances and smooth edge finish are required on non-ferrous, non-metallic workpieces. The 3/16 inch shank fits standard router collets in that size range, making it straightforward to drop into an existing setup without adapter bushings.
Designed for use with ABS, acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, PE, PET, POM, PS, polycarbonate, polypropylene, solid surfaces, and UHMW. Fits routers and CNC spindles equipped with a 3/16 inch collet. Not piloted; intended for freehand or guided fixture use.
Installation and operation should be performed by machinists or fabricators familiar with router tooling and CNC or handheld router safety practices. Power down and lock out the router spindle before inserting or removing the bit. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended engagement depth and torque the collet nut according to the router or spindle manufacturer specifications. Always verify spindle RPM is appropriate for the cutter diameter before engaging the workpiece.
