The ACCUPRO 71177851 is a single-edge spiral upcut router bit designed for precision routing in plastics and solid surface materials. Built from solid carbide, this bit features a 0.125-inch cutter diameter, a 0.5-inch length of cut, and a 1/4-inch shank diameter with an overall length of 2 inches. The upcut flute geometry pulls chips up and away from the cut, keeping the work area clear and reducing heat buildup. The 21-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation. Right-hand cutting direction and an uncoated bright finish make this bit well-suited for clean, precise cuts in a wide range of thermoplastics. Installed by machinists, fabricators, and woodworking professionals.
This bit is engineered for routing ABS, acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, PE, PET, POM, PS, polycarbonate, polypropylene, solid surfaces, and UHMW. It is well suited for CNC routing applications where tight tolerances and clean edges are required in plastic fabrication, sign-making, and countertop work. The small 0.125-inch diameter makes it effective for detail passes, narrow slots, and intricate profile cuts in sheet and block plastic stock.
Compatible with routers and CNC spindles accepting a 1/4-inch shank. Designed for use in plastic fabrication routing applications involving ABS, acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, PE, PET, POM, PS, polycarbonate, polypropylene, solid surfaces, and UHMW. Not piloted; intended for freehand or guided CNC use.
Install and remove router bits only when the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is locked out per applicable safety procedures. Secure the 1/4-inch shank fully into the collet to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Inspect the collet and collet nut for wear before each use, as a worn collet can cause runout and bit damage. Use feeds and speeds appropriate for the specific plastic being routed to prevent melting or chipping at the cut edge.
