The ACCUPRO 71177471 is a single-edge upcut spiral router bit machined from solid carbide for cutting plastics and engineered materials. The upcut geometry pulls chips away from the workpiece and up through the flute, keeping the cut path clear and reducing heat buildup. With a 3 mm cutting diameter, a 12 mm length of cut, and a 21-degree helix angle, it is sized for detailed profiling, slotting, and trimming passes in sheet goods and fabricated plastic components. The bright uncoated finish is standard for plastic routing applications where coating adhesion to chips is undesirable. At 0.02 pounds, it is a lightweight precision tool intended for CNC routers and handheld routing setups with collets accepting a 3 mm shank.
This bit is designed for routing ABS, acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, PE, PET, POM, PS, polycarbonate, polypropylene, solid surfaces, and UHMW. Typical applications include sign fabrication, plastic panel trimming, fixture machining, and light profiling work in fabrication shops. The small diameter makes it well-suited for tight-radius contours and fine detail work on CNC routing tables. It is sold as a single unit with no minimum order requirement beyond one piece.
Compatible with routers and CNC spindles equipped with a 3 mm collet. Rated for use in ABS, acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, PE, PET, POM, PS, polycarbonate, polypropylene, solid surfaces, and UHMW. Not piloted; intended for freehand CNC or template-guided routing operations.
Install in a properly sized 3 mm collet and torque the collet nut to the spindle manufacturer specification before operation. Confirm spindle speed settings are appropriate for small-diameter carbide bits in plastic before starting the cut. Inspect the collet and collet nut for wear before seating the bit, as a worn collet can allow runout that will damage a bit at this diameter. Solid carbide is brittle — avoid side-loading or plunge entries beyond the rated length of cut.
