The ACCUPRO 71177273 is a downcut spiral router bit designed for precise routing in plastic and similar materials. Built from solid carbide, this single-edge bit features a right-hand cutting direction with a 21-degree helix angle that pushes chips downward during the cut, reducing tearout and producing cleaner top-surface finishes. The cutter diameter measures 0.125 inches with a 0.25-inch length of cut and a 1/4-inch shank diameter. Overall length is 2 inches. The bright, uncoated finish maintains a sharp edge for clean, consistent cuts in non-ferrous and synthetic substrates. This bit is installed and used by machinists, CNC operators, and woodworking or plastics fabrication professionals.
This bit is suited for CNC router applications involving plastic sheet goods, acrylics, and similar materials where surface finish quality on the top face is critical. The downcut flute geometry makes it a practical choice for single-sided laminated panels or plastics where conventional upcut bits would lift or fray the material surface. With a 1/4-inch shank, it fits standard 1/4-inch collets found on most benchtop and industrial CNC router spindles. It is sold individually and is not piloted, making it appropriate for freehand or fixture-guided CNC toolpaths.
Designed for use in CNC routers and handheld routers equipped with a 1/4-inch collet. Material application is plastic per manufacturer specification.
Install and remove router bits only after the spindle has come to a complete stop and power to the router or CNC machine has been disconnected or locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the router or spindle manufacturer's specified collet torque. Inspect the bit for chipping or edge wear before each use and replace if damaged. Eye protection and appropriate workholding fixtures are required when operating any router bit.
