The ACCUPRO 63310247 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit sized to wire gauge 44 (0.0860 inches decimal), designed for precision drilling in demanding shop and field applications. Built from solid carbide with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, it handles high-heat, high-speed drilling in hard materials including alloy steels, stainless, and cast iron. The 140-degree notched point reduces thrust and helps the bit self-center on entry. Web thinning further lowers cutting resistance and improves chip evacuation. At 2 inches overall length with a 0.581-inch spiral flute, this is a compact, high-performance bit suited for machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians working in tight-tolerance applications.
Intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools where a straight-cylindrical shank is required. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and chucks across that size range. Its maximum drilling depth of 0.460 inches makes it appropriate for through-hole and shallow blind-hole work in production and repair environments. This bit is classified as a high-performance grade, making it a step up from standard HSS tooling when material hardness or cycle time is a concern.
Designed as a high-performance replacement or production jobber drill for applications requiring a wire gauge 44 (0.0860-inch) hole; fits any drill press, CNC machining center, or power tool equipped with a collet or chuck accepting a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Install and remove this bit only with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per applicable safety procedures. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck to the recommended grip depth to prevent pullout under load. Solid carbide is brittle compared to HSS tooling — avoid side loads, interrupted cuts beyond the bit rating, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Use appropriate cutting fluid or air blast for chip clearance when drilling deeper than the flute length allows.
