The ACCUPRO 63309819 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. It measures 15/64 inch (0.2344 inch) in diameter and features a 140-degree notched point geometry that reduces cutting forces and improves self-centering on entry. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life under high-speed cutting conditions. Overall length is 2.5 inches, with a flute length of 1.172 inches and a straight 1/4-inch shank. Right-hand cutting with a regular spiral flute pattern. This bit is installed and used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and skilled trades professionals working with precision drilling applications.
This drill bit is suited for drilling steel and stainless steel in both production and maintenance environments. The web-thinned, parallel-web construction reduces thrust load, making it effective in hand-held drill applications as well as drill press and CNC setups. The 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 0.94-inch maximum drilling depth make it appropriate for short, accurate holes in ferrous plate, structural steel, and stainless components. It is sold individually and is intended for use where tight hole tolerances and surface finish are required.
Designed for drilling steel and stainless steel workpieces. Compatible with any drill press, CNC machining center, or hand drill equipped with a chuck or collet accepting a 0.250-inch straight shank. No coolant-through capability; use external coolant or cutting fluid as appropriate for the application.
Solid carbide drill bits are brittle and must be secured firmly in a properly sized chuck or collet before use to prevent runout and breakage. Ensure the workpiece is clamped securely before drilling. Carbide tooling should not be used in applications with heavy vibration or interrupted cuts unless specifically rated for such conditions. Follow the drill manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for solid carbide in the target material to avoid premature tool failure.
