The ACCUPRO 630-MG is a single-point threading tool bit designed for precision thread cutting, chamfering, undercutting, and V-grooving operations on metalworking lathes and turning centers. The tool features a micrograin solid carbide tip brazed to a steel shank, delivering consistent edge integrity at elevated cutting speeds. With a 3/4 inch shank width, 3/4 inch shank height, and a 4.5 inch overall length, the 630-MG fits standard tool holders common in both manual and CNC turning setups. The 60-degree included angle conforms to the E industry standard, making it a direct-fit choice for standard unified and metric thread profiles. Neutral cutting direction suits straight-plunge threading applications.
The 630-MG is suited for machining shops, tool-and-die operations, and maintenance turning work where single-point thread generation is required. Typical applications include cutting external and internal threads, producing chamfers at thread lead-ins, undercutting relief grooves, and generating V-groove profiles on bar stock and turned components. The neutral cutting orientation makes it appropriate for use on both manual engine lathes and CNC turning centers without requiring right- or left-hand tool orientation adjustments.
Designed as an OEM-style single-point threading tool bit suitable for standard 3/4 inch square shank tool holders used on manual engine lathes and CNC turning centers conforming to E-12 industry standard tooling specifications.
Installation of single-point threading tool bits should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle locked before seating the tool in the holder. The tool shank must be clamped securely in a tool holder or quick-change toolpost block with appropriate set screws torqued per the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm tool tip height is on center with the workpiece spindle axis before beginning any cutting pass. Inspect the carbide tip for chipping or crazing before each use and replace the tool if edge integrity is compromised.
