The ACCUPRO 620-MG is a single point threading tool bit designed for precision thread cutting, chamfering, undercutting, and V-grooving operations on lathes and turning centers. Built on a 0.5 inch square shank, this neutral-cut bit features a micrograin solid carbide tip that delivers fine edge retention and consistent geometry across ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 60-degree included angle conforms to standard thread profiles, making it suitable for machinists and tool-and-die professionals running production or maintenance threading work. At 3.5 inches overall length with a 0.5 inch tip, the 620-MG follows the industry standard E-8 specification.
The 620-MG is suited for threading, chamfering, undercutting, and V-grooving applications on manual and CNC lathes. Its neutral cutting direction makes it appropriate for straight-in plunging cuts. The E-style tool bit format fits standard quick-change and conventional tool post holders accepting 0.5 inch square shank inserts, which are common in job shops, maintenance facilities, and production machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fit for tool holders accepting E-style, 0.5 inch square shank single point tool bits per industry standard number E-8.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tool-and-die technician. Power down and lock out the lathe or turning center before seating or removing the tool bit from the holder. Ensure the bit is clamped securely and aligned on-center with the workpiece axis before beginning a threading pass. Do not exceed the tool post manufacturer's recommended clamping torque or overhang limits for this shank size.
