The ACCUPRO 587380 is a 10-piece ER16 collet set designed for use with ER16-compatible toolholders on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drilling machines. The set covers a clamping range from 0.020 inches (approximately 1 mm) minimum to 0.393 inches (approximately 10 mm) maximum, with individual collets at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 mm increments. Total Indicator Runout (TIR) is rated at 0.01 mm, providing the concentricity required for precision drilling, reaming, and light milling operations. The complete set weighs 1 pound and is packaged as a single kit for straightforward tool crib or shop storage.
This collet set is suited for production and job-shop environments where a full range of ER16 collet sizes must be on hand. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC setup personnel use ER16 collets in high-speed spindle applications where secure tool holding and minimal runout are critical to part accuracy and tool life. The ER16 series is a widely adopted standard in light-duty to medium-duty machining, making this set a practical solution for shops that run mixed tooling across multiple workholding stations.
Designed for use with ER16-series collet chucks and toolholders that accept the ER16 collet standard. No specific machine model compatibility was provided in the product data.
ER16 collets are installed and removed by a licensed or qualified machinist or toolroom technician using the appropriate ER16 spanner nut wrench and collet chuck. Before changing collets, the machine spindle must be fully stopped and the control placed in a safe, locked-out state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Inspect each collet for cracks, nicks, or deformation before seating; damaged collets must not be used. Ensure the collet is fully seated in the chuck taper before torquing the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification.
