The ACCUPRO 587310 is an ER16 series collet designed for precision CNC machining and milling applications. It accepts workpieces and cutting tools up to 0.196 inches (5.00 mm) in diameter, with a minimum collet capacity of 0.157 inches (4.00 mm). The collet maintains a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.01 mm, making it suitable for close-tolerance work where concentricity matters. Machinists and CNC operators install this collet into compatible ER16 collet chucks or tool holders to secure end mills, drills, reamers, and similar rotary cutting tools during machining operations.
This collet is used in machine shop environments on CNC mills, manual milling machines, and lathes equipped with ER16-compatible spindle tooling. It is appropriate for both production and job-shop settings where consistent tool runout and repeatable clamping force are required. The ER16 series is a widely adopted collet standard, making this part a practical replacement or additional collet for existing ER16 chuck systems already in service.
Designed as a direct-fit collet for use with ER16 collet chucks and ER16-compatible tool holders across standard CNC and manual milling platforms.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before changing collets, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all power is off or the machine is in a safe lockout state. The collet seats into the ER16 chuck body and is secured with the retention nut — use the appropriate ER16 spanner wrenches to achieve proper clamping without over-torquing. Inspect the collet bore and chuck taper for chips or debris before seating to avoid compromising runout.
