The ACCUPRO 54029657 is a solid carbide square milling insert designed for use in indexable face and shoulder milling cutters. Built to ISO code SOKU1505AZERCCM and assigned manufacturer grade ACK15, this insert features a CVD coating applied over a solid carbide substrate for elevated wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. With 8 available cutting edges on a double-sided body, it delivers a low cost-per-edge in high-volume production environments. The 6-degree relief angle and positive rake geometry reduce cutting forces and support clean chip evacuation. A 1.00 mm corner radius (0.0394 inches) provides edge strength while allowing tight shoulder contouring. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and toolroom technicians.
This insert is suited for milling applications in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where consistent insert life and repeatable edge geometry are required. The right-hand cutting orientation and screw-held mounting method make it compatible with SOKU-series cutter bodies in the CI series. It is appropriate for both CNC machining centers and manual milling setups where indexable tooling is used. Maximum depth of cut is 6.50 mm (0.2559 inches), making it well matched to medium-depth shoulder milling and face milling passes in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use with SOKU-series cutter bodies in the CI series, as indicated by the ISO code SOKU1505AZERCCM and the cutter series compatibility designation provided by the manufacturer.
This insert is installed by toolroom machinists or CNC setup technicians using the appropriate torx or hex key for the cutter body screw. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination will affect runout and edge life. Follow the cutter body manufacturer's torque recommendation for the clamping screw; do not over-tighten, as this can fracture the carbide body.
