The ACCUPRO 4500500 is a solid carbide taper length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It carries a 140-degree split point angle and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that resists heat and extends tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The straight cylindrical shank measures 10 mm in diameter, and the overall length is 142 mm with a 95 mm flute length, giving an 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio suited to deeper hole applications. A coolant-through design channels cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, which is critical when working in heat-sensitive alloys. This bit is intended for use by machinists and toolroom technicians on CNC machining centers and drill presses.
This drill bit is rated for use in stainless steel applications, where heat buildup and work hardening are the primary tool failure modes. The TiAlN coating and solid carbide substrate work together to maintain cutting geometry longer than high-speed steel alternatives in these conditions. The right-hand spiral flute with R-thinned web reduces thrust force at entry, which matters when drilling interrupted cuts or thin-wall tubing in stainless. It is sold individually and is appropriate for production shops, maintenance facilities, and tool cribs that require a high-performance carbide drill for corrosion-resistant alloys.
Designed for drilling stainless steel and similarly hard or abrasive alloys; the straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 10 mm shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before cutting, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant-through supply when drilling stainless steel to prevent work hardening and premature edge failure. Do not use this bit in hammer-drill or percussive mode.
