The ACCUPRO 4500414 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built from solid carbide with a TiAlN coating, it delivers superior heat resistance and wear life compared to standard HSS tooling. The 140-degree split point geometry reduces walking and lowers thrust force at entry. At 0.5118 inches (13.00 mm) in diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank of 14.00 mm, this bit is sized for rigid setups in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine operations. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation in deep-hole applications. Right-hand cut with a regular spiral flute and R-thinned web rounds out the geometry.
This drill bit is rated for primary use in stainless steels, making it a go-to for fabricators, machinists, and tool-and-die shops working with 304, 316, and similar grades. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 60.00 mm flute length suit through-holes and blind holes in plate, bar stock, and structural components. The DIN specification designation confirms it meets standardized European tooling tolerances, which eases integration into shops running metric-standard toolholders. Screw machine length geometry keeps the setup compact and rigid, reducing deflection in short-reach applications.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, screw machines, and drill presses equipped with straight-shank toolholders or collet chucks accepting a 14.00 mm shank diameter. Primary workpiece material rating is stainless steels per supplier specification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and spindle locked. Use a properly sized collet or drill chuck rated for the 14.00 mm shank diameter and ensure the shank is fully seated and secured before operation. Coolant-through setups require the machine spindle to supply coolant at adequate pressure through the tool centerline. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and machine manufacturer guidelines for tool changes and speeds-and-feeds selection.
