The ACCUPRO 4500361 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride), it delivers heat resistance and extended tool life in applications where standard HSS bits fall short. The 140-degree split point reduces walking and improves chip evacuation at entry. With a 3.00 mm cutting diameter, 0.1181 decimal inch equivalent, and an overall length of 62.00 mm (2.44 inches), this is a compact, rigid bit suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine operations. Machinists, toolroom techs, and production floor operators are the primary users.
This drill bit is optimized for stainless steels and other work-hardening alloys where cutting edge integrity is critical. The screw machine length design keeps the bit short and stiff, minimizing deflection in tight setups or multi-spindle machines. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed operations where internal flushing extends tool life and improves hole quality. The straight-cylindrical shank at 6.00 mm (0.2362 inches) fits standard collets and drill chucks across most CNC and manual setups. The flute-to-diameter ratio is 3xD, and the web is R-thinned for reduced thrust force at entry.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, screw machines, and drill presses equipped with standard collet or drill chuck toolholding that accepts a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is stainless steels per the manufacturer specification.
This bit is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician into a compatible collet or drill chuck. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify collet bore size matches the 6.00 mm shank before tightening. Use manufacturer-recommended cutting speeds and feeds for solid carbide tooling in stainless steel; exceeding rated parameters will damage the coating and cutting edge.
