The ACCUPRO 4500360 is a letter U screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with titanium aluminum nitride (TiAlN), this bit delivers excellent heat resistance and wear life at elevated cutting speeds. The 140-degree split point reduces walking and thrust force at entry, while the R-thinned web improves chip evacuation. At 0.3680 inch decimal diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank of 0.3906 inch, it fits standard drill chucks and collet toolholders. Coolant-through design channels fluid directly to the cutting zone, making it well suited for deep-hole and production drilling operations. Installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in shop environments.
This drill bit is designed for use in stainless steel machining applications where heat buildup and work hardening are primary concerns. The TiAlN coating maintains hardness at high surface temperatures, extending tool life compared to uncoated or HSS alternatives. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry support chip clearing in short to moderate depth holes. Screw machine length construction provides rigidity and reduced runout in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses equipped with appropriate workholding.
Designed as a high-performance replacement-style screw machine drill bit suited for stainless steel and similarly difficult-to-machine workpiece materials in CNC and manual drilling operations.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists following applicable shop safety procedures. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance. Ensure coolant supply lines are active and delivering adequate flow before beginning a drilling cycle. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended spindle speed and feed rate for the workpiece material.
