The ACCUPRO 4500348 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It measures 4.00 mm (0.1575 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree split point and a TiAlN coating that reduces heat buildup and extends tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. At an overall length of 66.00 mm with a 24.00 mm flute length, this stub-length geometry delivers rigidity and reduced deflection. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management in deep-hole applications. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production environments are the primary users of this bit.
This drill bit is designed for primary use in stainless steels, where tool rigidity and coating performance are critical. The screw machine (stub) length format makes it well suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where shorter overhang improves hole accuracy and finish. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and R-thinned web reduce thrust force on entry, making it appropriate for both through-hole and blind-hole work in production runs or precision repair situations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and milling machines using straight-shank toolholders or ER collet systems sized for a 6.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tool-and-die technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is seated and torqued in the holder before initiating a cut. Carbide is brittle — avoid side-loading or interrupted cuts outside the bit's rated application. Confirm coolant flow is active before drilling when using the coolant-through channel to prevent thermal cracking of the carbide substrate.
