The ACCUPRO 4500342 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride), this bit delivers exceptional heat resistance and tool life at elevated cutting speeds. It measures 4.50 mm in diameter with a 6.00 mm straight cylindrical shank and an overall length of 66.00 mm (approximately 2.60 inches). The 140-degree web-thinned point geometry reduces thrust force at entry and improves centering accuracy. Two regular spiral flutes provide efficient chip evacuation, and coolant-through capability supports high-feed drilling operations where heat buildup is a concern.
This drill bit is engineered for cutting stainless steels, where standard high-speed steel tooling often falls short. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and R-thinned web geometry make it well suited for precision hole-making in aerospace, medical device, food processing, and general metalworking environments. It conforms to DIN specification standards and falls within the ACCUPRO ASSC140-TA-CL series, covering the 3.50 mm to 5.00 mm diameter range. Machinists and CNC operators working with difficult-to-machine alloys will find the TiAlN coating especially effective in dry and minimum-quantity lubrication setups.
Part of the ACCUPRO ASSC140-TA-CL series, covering drill bit diameters from 3.50 mm to 5.00 mm. Intended for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with toolholders accepting a 6.00 mm straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is stainless steel; the TiAlN coating also supports drilling of other ferrous and high-temperature alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all controls are locked out before mounting or changing tooling. Verify the toolholder collet or chuck is sized for the 6.00 mm shank diameter and that runout is within acceptable limits before beginning a cut. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm coolant supply lines are properly connected and pressurized according to the machine tool manufacturer's guidelines.
