The ACCUPRO 4500332 is a screw machine length drill bit machined from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN for high-performance cutting in demanding materials. At 5.50 mm (0.2165 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree web-thinned point, it is engineered for fast, accurate entry and reduced thrust force in hard-to-machine workpieces. The 66.00 mm (2.5984 inches) overall length and 6.00 mm straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. Two regular spiral flutes and a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio promote efficient chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed production runs. Machinists and tooling technicians working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance environments are the primary users of this bit.
This drill bit is designed for cutting stainless steels and similar hard, work-hardening alloys where tool life and hole quality are critical. The short screw machine length profile improves rigidity and reduces deflection in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turret lathes. Its 28.00 mm flute length accommodates shallow-to-moderate depth holes typical in precision part production. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance at elevated cutting speeds, making this bit appropriate for dry or minimal-lubricant machining strategies as well as coolant-fed operations.
Designed as an OEM-style screw machine length drill bit in the ACCUPRO ASSC140-TA-CL series, sized for use in applications requiring bits in the 5.00 to 6.50 mm (0.2000 to 0.2500 inch decimal) range with a 6.00 mm straight shank. Primary workpiece material compatibility is stainless steels per supplier specification.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with CNC and manual machine tool operation. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck and verify runout before beginning a cut. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter before engaging the cut. Do not force or pry the bit to clear chips — use coolant-through flow or retract periodically to evacuate swarf and prevent bit breakage.
