The ACCUPRO 4500284 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Measuring 8.90 mm (0.3504 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree split point and TiAlN coating, this bit is built for aggressive, accurate entry into hard and abrasive workpieces. The right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the R-thinned web reduces thrust load at the tip. Overall length is 103.00 mm (4.06 inches) with a 61.00 mm (2.40 inches) flute length. Coolant-through capability supports sustained cutting in high-heat applications. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators are the primary users.
This drill is sized in the 8.00 mm to 9.00 mm range and conforms to DIN specification standards. It is optimized for stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, making it well-suited for aerospace, medical, food-service fabrication, and general industrial machining environments where work-hardening alloys and heat-resistant materials are common. The straight cylindrical shank with a 10 mm shank diameter fits standard collets and drill chucks used on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills. Single-piece packaging makes it appropriate for toolcrib replenishment or individual job orders.
Designed for use in standard straight-shank collets and drill chucks accepting a 10 mm shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines configured for jobber-length carbide tooling in the 0.3500 to 0.4000 decimal inch size range.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck or collet are fully de-energized and at rest before inserting or removing the bit. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side-loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed rate adjustment, or dropping on hard surfaces. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and system pressure is appropriate before running at production feed and speed rates.
