The ACCUPRO 4500281 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. It measures 9.20 mm in diameter with a 140-degree split point and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life by reducing heat and wear at the cutting edge. Overall length is 4.06 inches with a 2.40-inch flute length. The two-flute, regular spiral design promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the R-thinned web reduces thrust load at entry. This drill is suited for machinists, tool and die technicians, and production drilling environments where precision and tool longevity are critical.
The 4500281 is rated for primary use in stainless steel, making it appropriate for shops machining 300 and 400 series alloys, duplex stainless, and similarly tough ferrous materials. The coolant-through design allows internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone, which is essential when drilling deep holes or running at elevated feeds and speeds in heat-resistant alloys. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet systems without modification. This is a right-hand cutting tool intended for conventional CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes with live tooling.
Designed as a high-performance replacement jobber drill for applications requiring a 9.20 mm diameter solid carbide bit with a straight cylindrical shank, conforming to DIN specification standards.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the straight shank fully in a drill chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Enable coolant flow before engaging the cut when using the through-coolant feature. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate parameters, or dropping the tool on hard surfaces.
