The ACCUPRO 4500252 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance metal cutting in demanding shop environments. Sized at 6.50 mm (0.2559 inches) in diameter, it features a 140-degree split point with proprietary web thinning (R-thinned) that reduces entry thrust and centers the drill on contact. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. At 91.00 mm (3.5827 inches) overall length with a 53.00 mm (2.0866 inches) flute length, this bit fits standard drill chucks and CNC machining center toolholders. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and CNC operators.
This jobber drill is rated for stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, making it appropriate for aerospace, medical, food processing, and industrial fabrication applications where work hardening and heat buildup challenge standard HSS tooling. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio suits through-hole drilling in moderate-depth bores. Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone, which is critical when drilling stainless steel at production feed rates. The straight cylindrical shank (8 mm shank diameter) seats securely in Weldon-style side-lock holders, collets, and drill chucks.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and other equipment that accommodates a straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material rating is stainless steel; the TiAlN coating and solid carbide substrate also suit other ferrous alloys and hardened steels within the 6.00 mm to 7.00 mm drill size range.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the bit from any toolholder. Seat the straight shank fully and evenly in the collet or chuck to the recommended grip depth before tightening to prevent runout. When using coolant-through capability, confirm the toolholder and spindle are rated for internal coolant delivery before pressurizing the system.
