The ACCUPRO 4500234 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It features a 140-degree split point geometry and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that resists heat and extends tool life in abrasive cutting conditions. The 11.70 mm diameter bit has an overall length of 4.6457 inches and a flute length of 2.7953 inches. A right-hand spiral flute and web-thinned point reduce thrust and improve chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability makes this drill well suited for production environments where heat management is critical. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians are the primary installers and operators of this bit.
This drill bit is designed for cutting stainless steel and other hard or work-hardening alloys where carbide substrate and thermal-resistant coatings are required. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides the reach needed for jobber-length applications across a range of industrial and precision manufacturing setups. It is sold individually and is appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped with compatible chucks or collets that accept a 12 mm straight cylindrical shank.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement or production drill for use in machines accepting a 12 mm straight cylindrical shank, within the drill bit size range of 0.4000 to 0.5000 decimal inch (10.00 to 12.50 mm).
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling professionals familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Verify that chuck or collet capacity is rated for the 12 mm shank diameter before securing the tool. Use appropriate feeds and speeds for the workpiece material, and confirm coolant flow is active before beginning coolant-through drilling operations.
