The ACCUPRO 4500228 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It features a 7.60 mm (0.2992 inch) diameter, a 140-degree proprietary point angle, and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life under heat and abrasion. The bit runs right-hand cutting with a regular spiral flute and an R-thinned web for improved chip evacuation and reduced thrust at entry. Overall length is 3.58 inches (91 mm) with a 2.09-inch (53 mm) flute length. A straight cylindrical shank at 8 mm diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks or collet holders. This drill is suited for machinists, tool-and-die shops, and precision fabricators working with tight tolerances.
This drill bit is rated for primary use in stainless steel and is classified as a high-performance grade tool. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper drilling applications where chip packing is a concern. Coolant-through capability allows cutting fluid to be delivered directly to the cutting edge, which is critical when drilling stainless steel or other work-hardening alloys at production feed rates. The DIN specification designation confirms dimensional conformance to international tooling standards, making it compatible with standard toolholding systems found on CNC machining centers and drill presses.
Designed as a high-performance jobber drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills equipped with standard collet or drill chuck toolholding accepting an 8 mm straight shank. Primary target workpiece material is stainless steel; the TiAlN coating and solid carbide substrate also support use in other hard or abrasive ferrous materials within the 7.00 mm to 8.00 mm drill size range.
Installation and use of this drill should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with speeds, feeds, and toolholding practices for solid carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of runout before seating the shank, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral load. When enabling coolant-through operation, verify that the machine spindle and toolholder support internal coolant delivery at the required pressure. Follow the machine builder and tooling manufacturer guidelines for appropriate cutting parameters to avoid tool fracture.
