The ACCUPRO 4500122 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to letter U (0.3680 inches decimal equivalent), designed for precision drilling in hard and abrasive materials. The bit features a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life by reducing heat buildup and wear at the cutting edge. The 140-degree split point reduces thrust force and improves hole entry accuracy. With a UR-thinned web and slow spiral flute geometry, this bit is built for controlled chip evacuation in tough ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. Machinists and toolroom technicians use this bit in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual production work where dimensional accuracy and tool longevity are required.
This drill bit is suited for production drilling and precision hole-making in hardened steels, stainless alloys, cast iron, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks and collet holders sized for 3/8-inch shank diameters. It is a single-piece solid carbide construction, making it a preferred choice when high-speed steel tooling lacks the rigidity or wear resistance needed for the application. It is sold and packaged individually.
Designed as a jobber-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and conventional drill presses configured for solid carbide tooling.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Solid carbide tooling is brittle compared to high-speed steel and is susceptible to chipping if subjected to shock loads or side forces — secure workpieces firmly and avoid interrupted cuts where possible. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for spindle speeds and feed rates appropriate to the workpiece material and drill diameter.
