The ACCUPRO 4500113 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for drilling hardened materials in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 140-degree split-point geometry with a proprietary point type and UR-thinned web for reduced entry force and improved chip clearance. The TiAlN coating provides thermal and oxidation resistance, extending tool life in high-heat cutting environments. At 4.625 inches overall length with a 2.8125-inch flute length, this bit is suited for production drilling operations performed by machinists and tool-room technicians on CNC machining centers and manual drill presses.
This drill bit is configured for right-hand cutting with a slow spiral flute and a straight cylindrical shank measuring 0.5000 inches in diameter. It is intended for use on hardened steels and other difficult-to-machine materials where standard high-speed steel tooling underperforms. The 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in deeper hole applications. The DIN specification designation confirms dimensional conformance to internationally recognized standards, making it compatible with standard toolholders and collet chucks accepting a 1/2-inch shank.
Designed for use with standard toolholders and drill chucks accepting a 0.5000-inch straight shank. Intended for drilling hardened materials on CNC machining centers and manual drill presses conforming to DIN tooling standards.
Installation and use of carbide drill bits should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool specifications and machine setup procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is de-energized or locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the toolholder. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth to prevent pullout under cutting load. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material before initiating a cut, as carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to breakage from improper parameters or interrupted cuts.
