The ACCUPRO 4500084 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for drilling hardened materials where standard high-speed steel tooling falls short. It measures 3.30 mm in diameter with an overall length of 48.00 mm (1.8898 inches) and a flute length of 18.00 mm (0.7087 inches). The 140-degree split point reduces thrust and walking on entry, while the TiAlN coating adds heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. The straight cylindrical shank (4 mm diameter) seats in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators running hardened steel, tool steel, or similar difficult-to-machine workpieces are the primary users of this tool.
This jobber drill is suited to machine shop and production floor applications where hardened or abrasive materials are regularly encountered. The slow spiral flute geometry promotes chip control in materials that produce short, brittle chips rather than long stringy ones. With a 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio, the 4500084 covers typical through-hole and shallow blind-hole operations in hardened workpieces without the tool deflection risk of longer drill formats. It conforms to DIN specification standards and is sold as a single unit.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills equipped with standard drill chucks or collet systems accepting a 4 mm straight shank. Intended for drilling hardened materials per the DIN specification series for jobber-length solid carbide drills.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine in a full stop, locked-out state per applicable machine guarding and lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before beginning the operation. Consult the machine tool manufacturer and cutting tool guidelines for appropriate feed and speed parameters for the specific workpiece hardness. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed adjustment, or dropping the tool on hard surfaces.
