The ACCUPRO 4500082 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for drilling hardened materials where standard HSS tooling fails. Built to DIN specification, it features a 140-degree split point, slow-spiral fluting, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life under high-heat cutting conditions. The 3.00 mm diameter (0.1181 inch) drill has an overall length of 46.00 mm (1.811 inches) and a flute length of 16.00 mm (0.630 inches). The straight cylindrical shank seats cleanly in standard drill chucks and collets. Intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on hardened steel, alloy steel, and similar difficult-to-machine workpiece materials.
This drill is suited for production and maintenance machining applications where the workpiece material is hardened and cutting tool rigidity is critical. The slow-spiral, two-flute geometry reduces deflection and improves chip evacuation in short-hole drilling scenarios. The 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio and UR-thinned web lower entry resistance and reduce thrust force on the spindle. Typical applications include component drilling in aerospace, tool-and-die, and precision metalworking environments. This drill does not support coolant-through delivery and is intended for external coolant or dry cutting setups.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills equipped with standard ER or drill-chuck toolholding accepting a 3.00 mm straight shank. Intended for hardened workpiece materials per DIN specification designation.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the drill from the chuck or collet. Verify shank runout with a dial indicator before starting a new job to avoid premature edge chipping. Do not use this drill for coolant-through setups, as this tool does not support internal coolant delivery.
