The ACCUPRO 4500070 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for drilling into hardened materials. It features a 140-degree split point with UR-thinned web geometry that reduces entry force and helps center the drill without a pilot hole. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-heat cutting environments. At 5.50 mm (0.2165 inches) in diameter and 75.00 mm (2.9528 inches) overall length, it runs in a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 6 mm and is suited for CNC machining centers and manual drill presses alike. Installation is handled by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This bit is optimized for hardened materials including hardened steels, tool steels, and similar ferrous workpieces where conventional HSS tooling loses edge life quickly. The slow spiral flute geometry and 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio help evacuate chips efficiently in deep-hole applications while maintaining rigidity. It follows DIN specification standards and is packaged as a single unit. Typical applications include precision hole work in mold and die, aerospace component machining, and general metalworking shops requiring consistent performance on tough substrates.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide jobber drill for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 6 mm straight shank, suitable for CNC and manual machining setups targeting hardened material applications.
This drill bit should be installed by a qualified machinist following standard tooling setup procedures for carbide cutting tools. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered off before changing tooling. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper support, or impacts that can chip the cutting edge. Confirm correct spindle speed and feed rate for the target material hardness before engaging the cut; no coolant-through capability is present on this tool, so adequate external coolant or dry-cutting conditions appropriate to TiAlN-coated carbide should be observed.
