The ACCUPRO 4500035 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit in No. 22 wire size (0.1570 inches), designed for drilling hardened materials where standard high-speed steel tooling loses its edge. The 140-degree split-point geometry with UR web thinning reduces thrust and centers the drill without a pilot hole. A TiAlN coating adds heat resistance and extends tool life in abrasive, high-temperature cutting conditions. Overall length is 2.0625 inches with a 0.8750-inch flute length. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.1875 inches in diameter. This bit is specified to DIN standards and is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in precision drilling applications.
The 4500035 is suited for drilling hardened steels, tool steels, and other hardened materials in both production and maintenance machining environments. The slow spiral flute design controls chip evacuation in tough, work-hardening materials and reduces the risk of chip packing. A 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio keeps the bit rigid over its working length. This bit is a single-piece, solid carbide construction with no coolant-through capability, making it appropriate for dry or externally lubricated setups on conventional or CNC drill presses and machining centers.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for No. 22 wire-size jobber drill bits in solid carbide grade with a 0.1875-inch straight shank, suitable for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting that shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are properly fixtured before engaging the drill. Do not exceed the recommended surface footage for solid carbide tooling in the material being drilled, and use external coolant or cutting fluid where the application requires it.
