The ACCUPRO 4500021 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for drilling into hardened materials in precision machining environments. The bit measures 8.50 mm in diameter with an overall length of 98.00 mm (3.8583 inches) and a flute length of 50.00 mm (1.9685 inches). A 140-degree split point angle and UR-thinned web reduce entry force and improve centering on hard surfaces. TiAlN coating provides heat resistance at elevated cutting temperatures, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened workpiece applications. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians are the primary installers and users of this drill in CNC and manual drilling operations.
This drill is designed for use on hardened materials in industrial and precision shop environments. The slow spiral flute geometry is optimized for chip evacuation in tough, low-machinability workpieces. With a straight cylindrical shank measuring 10 mm in diameter, it seats in standard drill chucks and collet holders. The right-hand cutting direction and 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it suitable for through-hole and blind-hole applications in both CNC machining centers and manual drill presses. It ships as a single unit and is manufactured to DIN specification standards.
Designed as a DIN-specification jobber drill for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 10 mm straight cylindrical shank, suitable for CNC machining centers and manual drill presses processing hardened materials in the 8.00 mm to 9.00 mm drill size range (0.3000 to 0.3500 decimal inch).
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machining personnel with the machine powered down and in a locked-out state per applicable safety procedures. Ensure the chuck or collet is clean and properly torqued to the manufacturer specification for the toolholder in use before running the spindle. Do not use this bit on non-hardened soft materials where a standard HSS or cobalt drill would be more appropriate, as improper application can cause premature chipping of the carbide cutting edge. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against tooling charts for the specific workpiece hardness before operation.
