The ACCUPRO 40673592 is an indexable square-shoulder face mill designed for high-productivity metal removal on CNC machining centers and milling machines. Built on the CI series platform, this 4.0-inch cutting diameter tool accepts 8 LOKU 552 or LNKU 557 inserts held in place by screws and delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.47 inches. The cutter body is machined from steel, features a positive rake geometry, and is configured for right-hand cutting. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in demanding applications. The 1.5-inch arbor hole fits standard horizontal and vertical milling setups. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production shops or job shops will find this cutter well-suited to aggressive facing and contouring cycles.
This face mill is suited for a range of milling operations including facing, helical interpolation, shouldering, slotting, ramping, and plunging. The 90-degree lead angle produces true square shoulders, making it a practical choice for workholding-sensitive setups where vertical wall accuracy matters. It is appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous applications depending on insert grade selection. The 8-insert configuration at a maximum of 8,350 RPM supports high feed rates in both roughing and semi-finishing passes on steel, cast iron, and similar materials.
Compatible with LOKU 552 and LNKU 557 indexable inserts, insert size code 12. The 1.5-inch arbor hole and 0.6338-inch keyway width are designed for standard milling machine arbors and CNC machining center adapters with matching bore specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before mounting or removing the cutter body. Verify arbor bore fit and keyway alignment before torquing the retention fastener to the machine tool manufacturer specification. Inspect insert pockets and seating surfaces for chips or debris before indexing or replacing inserts.
