The ACCUPRO 36428407 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. It features a 3/8-inch diameter cutting head with 4 flutes and an AlTiCrN coating, which provides high heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. The variable index geometry helps reduce harmonic chatter during cuts, improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.3200-inch length of cut, this single-end tool is suited for finishing passes and contoured surface work. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
This ball end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for profiling, slotting, and 3D contouring operations. The AlTiCrN coating makes it particularly effective when cutting alloy steels, stainless steels, hardened materials, and high-temperature alloys where heat buildup is a primary concern. The 3/8-inch shank diameter allows direct installation into standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders of the same bore size. It is suited for both roughing approaches at reduced depths and finish passes on complex contoured geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide ball end mill compatible with standard 3/8-inch bore end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of chips or debris before inserting the end mill. Tighten the collet or set screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified retention method before beginning any cutting operation. Follow your facility's tool change and lockout procedures to prevent unintended spindle engagement during setup.
