The ACCUPRO 315656 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 3/4-inch diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 5-inch overall length with an extended reach of 2.5 inches. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating improves wear resistance and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge. With three right-hand spiral flutes and a 37-degree helix angle, the 315656 is centercutting and suited for both roughing and finishing passes where edge integrity and tool life are critical. Machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, die-mold, or precision job shop environments will find this tool appropriate for deep-cavity and extended-reach applications.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers for milling steel, stainless steel, and other ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a small corner radius is required to reduce stress concentrations in part features. The 0.060-inch corner radius and micrograin carbide substrate make it well suited for finishing floors and walls in pockets, slots, and contours. The extended reach neck diameter of 0.7125 inches and 2.5-inch reach length allow access to deeper part features without sacrificing rigidity in typical setups.
Designed as a single-end corner radius end mill with a 3/4-inch shank diameter, compatible with standard CNC milling tool holders accepting 3/4-inch straight shanks. Shank diameter tolerance is -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches for secure clamping in collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic holders of the appropriate bore size.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state before tool changes. Ensure the tool holder bore and shank are clean and free of chips or contamination before clamping. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after seating to avoid premature edge wear. Extended-reach tools are more sensitive to overhang and should be set to the minimum projection required for the specific application.
