The ACCUPRO 315583 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in metal-cutting applications. With a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, this tool is built for extended-reach operations where standard-length end mills cannot access deep pockets or recessed features. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating provides thermal resistance and lubricity, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 0.060 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, improving surface finish and tool durability. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for applications requiring deep reach into cavities, slots, and pockets where a long-reach, reduced-neck geometry is necessary to clear workpiece walls. The 3-3/8 inch reach length and 0.4750 inch neck diameter allow the tool to reach well below the shank without excessive deflection. It is appropriate for profiling, contouring, and semi-finishing operations in mold, die, and general machining environments. The single-end, right-hand cutting, right-hand spiral configuration is standard for conventional CNC machining centers.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 1/2 inch toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills equipped with compatible collets or end mill holders.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle stopped and all motion axes at rest. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped to the specified toolholder depth before operating. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after tool installation, as extended-reach tools are sensitive to toolholder concentricity. Follow the machine manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer guidelines for feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for the specific workpiece material.
