The ACCUPRO 315532 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and a ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating that extends tool life by reducing friction and heat buildup at the cutting edge. With three right-hand spiral flutes and a 37-degree helix angle, the tool is built for aggressive material removal while maintaining surface finish quality. The extended reach configuration — with a 2.375 inch reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 0.475 inches — allows access to deep pockets and stepped features that standard-length end mills cannot reach. Centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining center operations in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms. The extended reach and reduced neck make it especially useful for milling deep cavities, slots, and contoured features where clearance is limited. It is a single-end tool intended for use in standard 1/2 inch collets or end mill holders on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher surface footage and feeds compared to standard carbide grades, making it appropriate for demanding cuts in alloy steels, stainless, aluminum, and similar materials.
Designed for use in standard 1/2 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, or shrink-fit toolholders on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers requiring an extended-reach corner radius end mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or tool-change state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in the holder to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide tools are brittle and should not be forced into interrupted cuts beyond their rated parameters.
