The ACCUPRO 315299 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers consistent cutting performance and edge retention under demanding conditions. The mill measures 1/2 inch in diameter with a 5/8 inch length of cut and a 3-inch overall length. A 37-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The zirconium nitride (ZrN) coating reduces friction and extends tool life across a range of workpiece materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual mills for contouring, slotting, and finishing passes.
This ball end mill suits applications requiring a full-radius cutting profile, including 3D contouring, cavity milling, and blending operations on molds, dies, and complex part geometries. The 3-flute configuration balances material removal rate with chip clearance, making it effective on aluminum, steel, and hardened materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry are standard for conventional and climb milling on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 1/2 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and end mill holders commonly found in production and job-shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-production ball end mill fitting any tool holder or collet chuck sized for a 1/2 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts to avoid premature tool wear or part rejection.
