The ACCUPRO 315261 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contour milling, profiling, and 3D surfacing operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for high-speed finishing passes and complex geometry work. The 3/8-inch cutting diameter and 1-1/2-inch length of cut suit medium-depth cavity work and curved surface finishing. A 37-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating adds surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in abrasive materials. Machinists and toolroom operators install this mill on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills alike.
This end mill is suited for precision milling applications in job shop, production, and toolroom environments. The 3-flute configuration balances chip clearance and rigidity, making it effective on aluminum, steel, stainless, and hardened materials up to the coating rating. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders commonly used in vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed as a standard 3/8-inch shank ball end mill compatible with ER collet systems, end mill holders, and hydraulic chucks used on CNC vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, and manual knee mills accepting 3/8-inch shank tooling.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and powered down before loading or removing tooling. Clean the collet, collet chuck, or end mill holder bore before seating the shank to achieve proper grip and runout. Tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque rating using the appropriate spanner or collet nut wrench. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, particularly for finish-pass operations where dimensional accuracy is critical.
