The ACCUPRO 315101 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and engineered plastics. It features a 1-inch cutting diameter, a 5-1/2-inch length of cut, and a 37-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. Three right-hand spiral flutes deliver a balance of rigidity and material removal across a range of peripheral and slot milling applications. The micrograin carbide substrate provides hardness and edge retention suited to demanding production environments. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for deep-reach milling applications where a standard-length tool cannot access the full depth of a workpiece feature. The 8-inch overall length and 5-1/2-inch length of cut make it appropriate for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling where extended reach is required. The bright/uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for aluminum, copper alloys, and other non-ferrous materials where coated tools may cause built-up edge. The center-cutting geometry also allows plunge entry when the operation requires it.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 1-inch straight shank with a shank diameter tolerance of +0.0001 / -0.0004 inches.
This end mill is installed by qualified machinists following standard toolholding procedures for collet chucks, end mill holders, or hydraulic chucks rated for 1-inch shank diameters. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Confirm runout within acceptable limits before beginning a cut, as extended-reach tools are more sensitive to spindle and holder runout than stub-length tools. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material.
