The ACCUPRO 314978 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and hard-material applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with ZrN (zirconium nitride) for extended tool life, this end mill features a 3/4-inch diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length. The 37-degree helix angle and three-flute configuration promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. It is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in job shop, production, and toolroom environments.
This end mill is suited for contouring, profiling, and finishing passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a controlled corner radius is required at the base of a feature. The 0.090-inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at sharp corners and helps maintain part geometry in mold and die work, aerospace components, and precision machined parts. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. Single-end construction with a 3/4-inch shank diameter provides rigid tool holding in standard end mill holders and collet chucks.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 3/4-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit tooling systems compatible with right-hand cutting tools.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Ensure the tool holder bore and shank are clean and free of chips before seating the end mill. Proper runout should be verified with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable OSHA standards for tooling setup and speeds and feeds selection.
