The ACCUPRO 314917 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 5/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1-5/8-inch length of cut, and a 37-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting performance across a range of machining applications. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and wear resistance required for high-speed material removal. It features a bright/uncoated finish, three flutes, and right-hand cutting and flute directions. Machinists and tooling professionals working in job shops, production environments, or maintenance machining applications rely on tools of this type for accurate profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills where a 5/8-inch shank is compatible with the spindle or collet setup. The 3-1/2-inch overall length accommodates standard toolholding setups without extended reach. The single-end configuration makes it a straightforward consumable replacement in high-cycle production or general-purpose milling. It is not configured for extended reach and does not feature a chipbreaker or variable helix geometry, keeping the application profile focused on standard-depth passes within the 1-5/8-inch length of cut.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 5/8-inch shank milling applications in machining centers and manual mills using ER or end mill collet systems that accept a 5/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling professional. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth before torquing the retention hardware. Verify runout at the cutting diameter with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to confirm proper seating and holder condition.
