The ACCUPRO 314786 is a single-end, square-profile solid carbide end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) mill diameter with a matching 7/16 inch shank diameter, a 9/16 inch length of cut, and a 37-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating provides a hard, wear-resistant surface layer that extends tool life in abrasive cutting conditions. Micrograin carbide construction supports the tight dimensional tolerances required in precision machining environments. This tool is sold as a single unit and is suited for machinists and toolmakers working in job shops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance operations.
The 314786 is used in vertical and horizontal milling machine setups where a square shoulder or slot milling operation is required. Its 3-flute geometry balances chip clearance with cutting edge strength, making it well suited for moderate-to-high feed rates in steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling on CNC mills and manual knee mills. The 2-3/4 inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard fixture setups without sacrificing rigidity.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or stock tooling option for 7/16 inch collet or end mill holder setups on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 7/16 inch straight shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolmakers. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet, end mill holder, or Weldon-style holder, ensuring the shank is fully seated and the holder is torqued to machine tool manufacturer specifications. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before starting the cut. Inspect the tool for chips or coating damage before each use, and never exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speed and feed parameters for the workpiece material.
