The ACCUPRO 313331 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking, tooling, and machining applications. It features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length. The 45-degree spiral flute geometry and ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating improve chip evacuation and surface finish while extending tool life in demanding cutting conditions. Built from micrograin carbide stock, this end mill delivers consistent dimensional accuracy with a mill diameter tolerance of +0.000 / -0.002 inch. It is a single-end, centercutting tool and is appropriate for use by machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators.
This end mill is suited for profiling, slotting, and plunging cuts in a range of materials where a 1/2 inch diameter, 2-flute geometry is specified. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional CNC milling machines and manual knee mills. Typical applications include ferrous and non-ferrous metal milling where controlled chip load per flute and a high-helix rake angle are advantageous. The ZrN finish adds lubricity and heat resistance compared to uncoated carbide.
Designed for use in standard 1/2 inch collets, end mill holders, or shrink-fit tooling systems on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. No specific model compatibility data was provided in the product input.
This tool is installed by machinists using a 1/2 inch collet, set-screw end mill holder, or hydraulic holder in a milling spindle. Ensure the machine spindle and holder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify correct runout after installation, as excessive runout accelerates flute wear and reduces dimensional accuracy. Always confirm spindle speed and feed rate settings match the material and cut type before engaging the cutter.
