The ACCUPRO 313108 is a 2-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, alloys, and hardened materials. It measures 5/16 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch length of cut and a 2.5 inch overall length. The 45-degree helix angle promotes aggressive chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, while the ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating extends tool life by increasing surface hardness and reducing built-up edge. The micrograin carbide substrate supports high-speed and high-feed applications where tool rigidity is critical. This end mill is single-end and centercutting, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional slot and profile milling.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shop, toolroom, and production environments. It handles slot milling, profiling, and peripheral cuts in applications requiring tight tolerances. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle rotation. It is a strong fit for shops running aluminum, steel, stainless, and similar materials where a compact-diameter, short-flute end mill is needed for detail work or constrained workpiece access.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for any milling machine or machining center accepting a 5/16 inch shank end mill. Compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and set-screw holders sized for 5/16 inch shank diameters.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout verification. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or changing tooling. Verify collet or holder bore size matches the 5/16 inch shank diameter before tightening. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut being used.
