The ACCUPRO 312900 is a 2-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide stock, it carries a ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating that improves surface hardness and heat resistance during cutting. The mill measures 0.125 inches (1/8 inch) in diameter with a 0.25-inch (1/4 inch) length of cut and a 1.5-inch overall length, classifying it as a stub-length tool. A 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. This tool is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual milling operations.
This end mill is suited for finish and light roughing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a small-diameter, short-reach tool is required. The stub-length geometry increases rigidity and reduces deflection in tight-clearance setups. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry, making it useful in slotting, profiling, and pocket milling operations. It is a single-end tool, meaning it is replaced rather than indexed when worn.
Designed as a standard 1/8-inch shank square end mill compatible with CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual milling machines fitted with collet holders or end mill holders accepting a 0.125-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or wear before each use; a damaged edge on a small-diameter carbide tool can deflect or fracture under load.
