The ACCUPRO 312742 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding production environments. It features a 3/4 inch diameter, a 7-flute design, and an AlCrTiN coating that provides heat resistance and extended tool life in hardened and abrasive materials. The 38-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. With a 1-5/8 inch length of cut and a 4 inch overall length, this end mill suits deep-pocket and contour milling operations. It is a single-end, non-centercutting tool with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting action, intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC machining centers.
This end mill is well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes in ferrous and hardened steel applications where corner radius geometry is required to reduce stress concentrations and maintain part geometry. The 0.060 inch corner radius creates a controlled blend at the floor-to-wall intersection, making it appropriate for die and mold work, aerospace components, and precision fixture machining. The micrograin solid carbide substrate handles elevated cutting speeds without significant edge degradation, and the AlCrTiN coating extends performance in dry or minimum-quantity lubrication setups common in modern CNC production shops.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill replacement for CNC machining center applications requiring a 3/4 inch straight shank and corner radius end geometry in the ACCUPRO Series HS product line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC toolholder assembly procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is powered down and the tool changer is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder to the recommended gauge line and torque the collet nut or retention mechanism according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on a 7-flute tool.
