The ACCUPRO 312645 is a 7-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter and a 2 inch length of cut, it handles deep slotting, peripheral milling, and finishing passes in hard and abrasive workpiece materials. The 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiCrN coating adds heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace component manufacturing, and precision machining facilities will find this end mill well suited to high-speed steel alternative cutting strategies on hardened steels and superalloys.
The 312645 belongs to ACCUPRO Series HS, a line built around micrograin carbide substrates optimized for rigidity and edge retention. The 1/2 inch shank diameter fits standard ER and shrink-fit toolholders common on vertical machining centers and CNC mills. The 4 inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard fixturing setups without sacrificing rigidity. This is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with no chipbreaker and no variable helix, making it straightforward to program and apply in conventional high-efficiency milling toolpaths.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-application tooling for 1/2 inch bore ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic toolholders on standard vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers. Compatible with ACCUPRO Series HS tooling program setups.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the toolholder bore is clean and free of chips or burrs before seating the shank. Torque the collet nut or toolholder to the toolholder manufacturer's specified value using the correct spanner wrench — do not use impact tools on collet nuts. Because this end mill is non-centercutting, use a ramping or helical interpolation entry strategy rather than direct axial plunge to prevent tool breakage.
