The ACCUPRO 312282 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. The 5/8 inch diameter cutter features five flutes with a 38-degree helix, variable index spacing, and an AlCrTiN coating that provides heat and wear resistance during aggressive cuts. The corner radius measures 0.060 inches, reducing stress concentration at the cutting edge and extending tool life in hardened or abrasive workpiece materials. With a 6 inch overall length and an extended reach design, this end mill suits deep-cavity and long-reach milling operations where standard-length tooling falls short. It is primarily installed by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
The 312282 is suited for slot milling, profiling, and pocketing operations where a radiused corner is required on the finished part. The extended reach length of 3.375 inches makes it appropriate for mold-making, die work, and aerospace component machining where deep features must be reached without sacrificing rigidity. The 5/8 inch shank diameter matches the cutter diameter for direct collet or end mill holder mounting. The AlCrTiN coating performs well in dry or minimum-quantity lubrication setups, and the micrograin carbide substrate supports higher surface footage in ferrous and hardened materials.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard 5/8 inch collets or end mill holders.
This end mill is installed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom personnel. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
